Value Delivered

For this new manufacturing plant, Southern Industrial Constructors (SIC) self-performed 85 percent of the work, including piping, electrical, equipment, structural, and civil disciplines. SIC managed subcontractors for the remaining 15 percent.

To help plan the project, SIC collaborated with the client and design partners. Early in the planning phase, SIC helped develop and define the project schedule, budget, and scope of work.

As part of the planning effort, SIC generated and managed 3-D modeling in coordination with the client, design partners, and original equipment manufacturers. This model was used to help gain end-user layout approval and determine accessibility for future maintenance. SIC fabricated a large portion of the piping scope off-site, resulting in a more cost- and schedule-efficient installation.

By deploying 330 craftspeople to meet scheduling milestones, and safely executing a total of 250,000 manhours, SIC delivered on-time, quality manufacturing line startup—in just four months.
