Value Delivered
Southern Industrial Constructors (SIC) installed major equipment and pipe systems for a ceramic proppant plant.
For the first of four production lines, we provided mechanical installation during Phase I and electrical for Phase III. The client kept the project under close scrutiny, requiring us to deliver the best possible price, a high level of safety, high quality, and on-time delivery.
Self-performing all installation work to ASME B31.3 requirements, our team delivered the work on-time and within budget.
Client Objectives
The client sought to construct a new ceramic proppant plant due to high product demand. This facility manufactures an activated clay used to fracture the ground’s subsurface at oil wells for increased extraction.
Solutions
SIC self-performed the installation of process equipment, process ductwork, and over 35,000 feet of process piping. Owner-supplied process equipment included:
- Baghouses
- Pumps
- Vessels
- Agitators
- Belt- and air-supported conveyors
- Heat exchangers
- Blowers
- Various skid-mounted process components
Additionally, we provided piping for the project. Carbon steel pipe was prefabricated and painted off-site to expedite production time.
Client Background
The client is a global industrial minerals company, with core competencies in mining, processing, logistics and material science.
